Stemming from over 20 years experience in the trade, our nursery is an industry leader in the production and sale of hedging plants in Ireland, from the very little to the very mature. We have the perfect mature specimens to give you an instant hedge. With satisfaction guaranteed our landscapers will makeover your garden with a quick, efficient and tidy installation. Most transformations are completed in just one day.
History
M & M Nursery started out in 1995 as a small plant trading company, buying and selling hedging and trees to the retail trade. I’m Mike and the other M is Máire. As a family run business, our ethos was always quality based but sourcing quality plants was a continuous struggle. So in 2001 we purchased 20 acres here in Birr to begin our own production and have more control over quality supply. Now many years later (as Christy Moore would say) we have our own crew. 5 budding young horticulturalists in total, not including our diligent staff of 4. While it hasn’t all been plain sailing, we must admit we have thoroughly enjoyed the journey. Mature Hedging production has grown ‘organically’ over the years out of demand by our customers. Vision
Our philosophy is summed up by the old Irish saying ‘Is fiú agus is féidir’ – as with most sayings there is no direct translation. It’s best described as a mixture of ‘If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right’ and the more modern ‘Yes we can’. We believe in value for money.
